I have been a programmer at Dances with Films, a US top 10 Indie festival for 6 years. In addition I have assisted short films on their film festival circuit for two years.
My name is Ethan Twardosz, and the motto for my Boy Scout troop where I became an Eagle Scout in 2023 is “do stuff.” This motto has shaped every step of my journey since.
When I was 17 I started arbitraging currency with friends of mine through discord and various gaming platforms. This enabled me to travel to 29 countries across 4 continents ( The Arctic Circle, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Belize, Brazil, Chile, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Easter Island, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Mexico, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, The Vatican ).
Along the way, I produced international short films in China, France, and Mexico.
I have had the privelege of meeting finacnciers and industry executives, agents, and filmmakers. A few notable names are Alex Brunner, Alex Young, Ashley Brucks, Brian Kend, Cale Boyter, Casey Bloys, Christopher Lockhart, Daria Cercek, Jean DeMeuron, Klaus Riederer, Mikey Ireland, Nick Nesbit, Oliver Robins, Pam Abdy, Paula Wagner, Ramses IsHak, Richard Arlook, Richard Gonda, Roy Lee, Sam Toles, Steve Asbell, and many more.
Since 2020, I’ve also served as a screener and programmer for Dances With Films, one of the most respected independent film festivals in the United States of America, where I curate the Dances With Kidz LA and Family NY categories and host Q&As with filmmakers. These experiences have given me a front-row seat to the power of independent cinema and the community it builds.
I try to bring the same approach to everything I do: go out and “do stuff.”
